About the Exmouth Chamber of Commerce
The Chamber of Commerce has been active in Exmouth since 1896. Today we are the leading representative of trade and commerce in the town.
As the voice of Exmouth business we’re consulted by Government, Local Government and other Community organisations over important decisions affecting the development of Exmouth.
Our mission is to make Exmouth a thriving business-friendly town. We do this through initiatives such as the prestigious Exmouth Chamber Business Awards, weekly Breakfast Club gatherings and regular networking and social events.
In 2012 the Chamber donated £1,000 to the Exmouth Christmas Lights Campaign, £400 to the INC ‘Shop Local’ Bags and each year we pay for shoppers to park for free in the run up to Christmas to support town centre businesses.
Members are kept informed about business news, events, activities and opportunities through a monthly newsletter and social media. We also have a monthly column in the Exmouth Journal to spread the word about Exmouth business.
The Chamber Executive Committee meets monthly. Town development is watched closely and we make the voice of Exmouth businesses heard when needed. The Chamber liaises closely with the Exmouth Town Council, East Devon District Council and Devon County Council. It is represented on the Area of East Devon Chambers of Commerce, the Water Users Group, the Exmouth Regeneration Board, the Exmouth Town Team and Tourism Forum.
