Bicton College Foundation Learning

Bicton College Foundation Learning supports students between the ages of 18 – 24 in preparation for the workplace. REACH enables students to transition from school into a further education environment to begin considering career options. PATHWAY TO EMPLOYMENT works with students on work skills and progresses them into work placements with a view to progressing to paid work. All of our students have some form of learning difficulty which may limit their chances in conventional routes into employment, however, we have found them to be committed, hardworking, enthusiastic and valued employees.
The students on the reach programme are beginning to consider career options and Carole is looking for businesses who could host visits and give them an insight into different job roles.
We are looking for businesses who could host work placements where students can learn more skills and develop their CVs to aid them on their journey into paid work. Job coaches work together with the student and the employer to assist with any necessary training and to build the confidence of the student and guide the employer in any additional support they may need.
