Both Exmouth & Budleigh are beautiful tourist destinations and have an array of amazing hospitality and retail businesses in each to welcome residents and visitors alike. Although the current Coronavirus restrictions have bought a huge range of struggles to our local businesses, it has meant that many residents have had the opportunity to go outside and appreciate the beauty of the area we live in.
As part of our Love Local #lovelocal initiative, the Exmouth Chamber of Commerce are partnering with the Budleigh Salterton & District Chamber of Commerce, in association with the Exmouth Journal, and pleased to launch the Sunrise and Sunset Photography Competition, to brighten up our January and engage both the local and business community with images of our amazing towns and promoting them as great places in which to live, work and visit.
The competition will run throughout January, with weekly features in the Exmouth Journal of selected entries as well as regular promotion on our extensive social media platforms.
The competition has been generously sponsored by Home Instead East Devon and the overall winner will receive £75 to spend in a local business of their choice. Managing Director, Mark McGlade, said “Home Instead are pleased to sponsor the photo competition. We are so fortunate to live in this part of the world and experience the most amazing sunrise and sunsets throughout the year. We thought it would be lovely to share some of these moments captured on camera by the readers of the Journal, to share and enjoy with the community and be thankful for the opportunity to live on the beautiful Jurassic Coast. We are pleased to be able to support the local businesses at this time and encourage everyone to shop local where possible to help our High Streets recover from the events of this past year.”
Any winning entries from Budleigh Salterton will be included in a future Town Calender and on the new Budleigh Tourist Information Centre website.
So if you have experienced and captured an amazing sunrise or sunset in Exmouth or Budleigh Salterton please email your entry, together with your contact details, to the Chair of Exmouth Chamber of Commerce, Laura Woodward-Drake, via email at firstname.lastname@example.org by 3rd February 2021 and use the hastags #ExmouthSunComp2021 or #BudleighSunComp2021 when posting so we can share appropriately.
