Statement from Exmouth Chamber of Commerce

EXMOUTH CHAMBER BUSINESS AWARDS AND OTHER EVENTS

It is with great disappointment that we have decided to cancel the Exmouth Business Awards for this year, due to the uncertain times that lie ahead for the UK and businesses. We have also cancelled our regular Tuesday Chamber Business Breakfasts and ‘Third Thursday Drinks’ Events until further notice.

As I’m sure you’re all aware, while things may not be at peak “lock down” regulations yet and things may well recover in the near future, the Business Awards is an event that has a lot of crucial planning and effort put in to it by many volunteers and we feel it is sensible to continue it during a period which has more certainty. Moreover, we are aware local businesses are going to feel the negative effects of the changes over the next few months.

We will of course let you know, should we be able to postpone it to another date later in the year.

The Journal have released a lot of great pieces so far and have agreed to continue coverage of past Winners and current Sponsors. We will keep all of the entries received so far on file, so that the companies who have spent time to make an entry will still be able to submit it, once the event is back.

The Exmouth Chamber of Commerce are going to be working on a number of initiatives over the coming weeks, to support its Members and further information will follow as soon as possible.

We send all of you our best wishes during this unprecedented time and hope to work with you again soon.
